Experience

Dano joined VVGB in 2025 as a trade lawyer.

Before joining VVGB, Dano worked for two years as an associate at an international law firm in Luxembourg, specializing in litigation and international arbitration. He represented multinational corporations and sovereign states in arbitration proceedings, as well as in enforcement actions.

Dano previously served as a trainee at the Court of Justice of the European Union in the chambers of Judge Jan Passer, where he contributed to cases involving EU competition law, arbitration, and public law, including the European Super League. After law studies in Paris and New York, he interned for more than a year at American and French law firms, where he was involved in proceedings before arbitral tribunals and the International Court of Justice. He also completed an externship at the ICSID in Washington D.C. where he worked on a NAFTA trade and investment dispute against Mexico.

Dano studied WTO law with Professor Petros C. Mavroidis and was ranked as the best in class in multiple subjects. During his studies, he conducted field research in Donbass-Ukraine and took part in numerous moot court competitions. In 2022, he successfully coached the Sciences Po Paris team in the Frankfurt Investment Law Moot Court that finished as the 4th best team worldwide. In 2024, he was awarded the 1st Prize in an essay competition organized by the EFILA in which he analyzed the EU Council’s decision to deny benefits to Russian investors under the Energy Charter Treaty.
